I hadn't shot film in over ten years. I found myself missing the physical properties of film; chemical reactions to light across a plane of silver crystals. I decided to take a walk around Capitol Hill and shoot a test roll of Kodak Portra 800.
Originally introduced in 1998, Kodak Portra is a fine-grained color-negative film widely used in fashion and wedding photography due to its superb rendering of skin tones.
